Brown vomit

My son  who is almost 16 months hasn't been feeling well today and he has vommitted a few times today and just did once again.  Before the vomit was mainly curdled milk..  This time is was brown and had some dark brown reddish slimy lines in it . .  What is this caused from?  He hasn't eatten anything chocolate, ir drinkin anything dark.

My son threw up dk brown that looked like coffee grounds and it was blood from an ulcer in his stomach. I hope he's doing better.

Does it smell??  Is he pooping ok?  I ask because severe constipation can cause a person to throw up what is in their bowels
