Daughter's eyes dilated for a week now

My daughter had her eyes dilated 1 week ago for an eye exam. They used 1% atropine drops. 24 hours after the dilation I was told this was normal. The office told me again after 48 hours that it was normal. They then told me to call back in a week if eyes were still dilated. Well, it has been a week. The eye is reacting to a pin light. However it is still noticebally more dilated. She has light blue eyes and I was told they are more sensitive. I am nervous. I was not told about this side effect. Could there be permanent damage or will her eyes just slowly come back to normal? Thank you for any answers.

Well just wanted to post an update. It took about 2 weeks for the eyes to go back to normal dilation. I sure wish the Dr. would have better informed me about this possible side effect so I would not have worried so much.

Have you called back? They need to know if her eyes are still dilated or not. Blue eyes are more sensitive, though I don't think there would be permanent damage from this. She just had a bad reaction to the drops and they can give her something else to deal with this complication. good luck
