Sick baby

My six month old son was diagnosed with croup over two weeks ago. He started to get better but starting last night, he developed a nasty sounding cough? Should I be concerned his croup turned into pneumonia?

I am sorry hes sick again , this has been happening a lot last year into this year, children seems to be getting recurring infections, they are well for a few days then go down with similar again. Give him plenty of fluids and if the fever goes higher take him back again .Did they check him for asthma?

We did go to the doctor yesterday and he basically said he just has a cough. No fluid in his lungs and as long as he doesn't have a fever, then he's okay. Well now he has a fever of 102.6. It stinks because he just got over the croup and now he has something else :-(

there are some posts online and incidents of it...maybe take a look at teh online information, I would still think as you are concerned you should speak to your doctor..

We went to the ER 2 weeks ago and followed up with his md who gave him prednisone for 4 days to help with the inflamed airways for his croup, but it also lowers the immune system which is why we had to wait another week to get his vaccinations. He had an elevated body temperature last night, but it was 100.9 rectally so I wasn't too concerned. Last night and tonight he seems fussier than normal and just looks like he isn't feeling well. I wanted to wait until he had a fever to call his doctor because I feel like I'm just being the paranoid first time mother that calls the pediatrician for every little thing. I was just wondering if anyone heard of croup turning into pneumonia because his cough has been gone for about a week until last night. It sounds pretty nasty and he seems to be breathing faster than normal.

t is a possibility and only an examination at the doctors will answer your question , there  is also the possibility of bronchitis. As I said only an examination will determine if there are any further problems .has he been prescribed any meds ?
