I'm so glad they found the cause of the limping. While growing pains typically start between the ages of 3-5, they should not typically cause limping. They are intermittent and usually happen at night. Good luck!
Sorry I forgot to add 3 year olds can get growing pains ....
Thank you or updating us, its good they did the xray did they give her anti biotics for the infection ?
It seemed on the X-ray that there was water on her hip due to an infection. Right now, she is almost walking back normal.
I've called today to the dr and tomorrow my daughter is scheduled for an echo and x-ray.
First he wanted to do a bone scan but that was done last year and he don't want to do this too much since this is with techtenium and gives radiation.
So, we're pretty anxious now and hope everything will work out all right.
Hi, as a parent, if it were my daughter I'd take her back in and request bloodwork and an x-ray. I think 3 is kind of young for growing pains.
When it comes to kids that are too young to describe and articulate their pain, limping is very worrisome, because that speaks for itself.Better to be safe than sorry. There is nothing wrong with going back in and telling her pediatrician that you are still worried.
others may have some answers for you, it does sound like maybe she got a minor fracture, I guess if it continues you could ask for an xray , what about shoes, could they be the cause of any discomfort ? she seems a little young but I do know young children get growing pains in their knees and legs ..meantime down play it and see if it stops ..let us know what it may be ..good luck
