hello i am 25 and i have pcos, i know with my pcos i have terrible periods sometimes i wasnt having any sometimes i was having 2 in one month.
I was diagnosed with it through scans and internal scans. I was put on fertility treatment as we wanted a baby i was put on tablets to make me have  a period and CLOMID a fertilatity drug that can also cause multiple pregnancies.
The drug works for some people but it didnt work for me.
I then had scans and some dye passed through my tubes to ensure they wasnt blocked which they wasnt. I had been told by this time that i wouldnt have children without IVF in there professional opinion. I was very stressed by all of this.
I then had an op to remove some of the cysts they didnt do a pregnancy test prior to surgery. About 2 weeks after the surgery i found out i was pregnant and had been through the op.
I had a healthy baby girl in 2005.
I then continued to have problems and wanted another but couldnt concieve they told me once again it was unlikely i would fall pregnant naturally.
I kept bleeding constantly and had an internal scan.
I specificaly asked the nurse would you tell if i was pregnant she said yes.
The scan reavelled i had a polyp and would wait to have removed.
Again about a week later i found out i was pregnant and it wasnt a polyp it was my baby.
i gave birth to a little boy in 2007.

I have pcos and was told never would i have children i have naturally concieved 2 children yes it took me 4 years for the first and 2 for the second but i did it despite what the drs said!

I believe my problem was stress and worry as what they kept saying.

fertilaty treastment may help for you and may be worth a try and try to relax when trying. i found i would wish this would be the time and it never was.
I concieved my babies abroad whilst on holiday (both of them) and had them on the same day just two years appart not bad for someone who couldnt have children.

I wish you much luck

There is hope!!!  I am 22 years old.  I was told that because I had PCOS that there was a possiblilty that I would never conceive.  But, after battling it for 7 years and two miscarriages later, I have a beautiful son.  The thing with PCOS is if you are not getting the periods, there is a huge possibility that you are not ovulating.  I had to put myself on Birth control to regulate my periods and then take myself off so that I could get pregnant.  It took me two months after stopping my pills to get pregnant.  It can be very tricky having PCOS.  Because, your hormone levels are so off track, you experience many if not all of the early pregnancy symptoms, and with not having a regular period its frustrating.  Just keep trying, I am about to try for my next one!!!  Good luck.  Write me you need anything!!!

Hi, sarah,  I understand your frustrations.  I am 33 now but was diagnosed with PCOS over 13 years ago.  There is more understood about the disease now but I made it through it.  I did have a hysterectomy when I was 24; I got pregnant a few months after I stopped birth control when I was 20; and this was with only one ovary.

I lost my first ovary when I was 16 due to cyst that killed my ovary; and I still became pregnant so there is a hope for a future.  I have always had cysts and the excrutiating pain that came with it.  Dr visit will help; hopefully they will have some ideas about some new treatments.  At the time we were treating mine, we used a diabetic drug to help make me feel better & help some symptoms.  I still have PCOS even though I have had a hysterectomy but seems to have very little effect now...yeah, the unwanted hair is still there and the weight is always a challenge.  I even had gastric bypass 6 years ago and lost 175 pounds.

Even though I went through lots of "bad" situations with PCOS, doesn't mean you will & I hope your DR will have some good info for you to help.  Let me know if you need to talk.
