If you were told that you have pre-cancerous cells were present they shouldn't just send you home for 4 months.  My mom had a hysterectomy, (sorry about spelling) for that same reason.  You need to get a copy of your file from your current doctor and find another OB that knows how to do their job.  You want to be taken care of when its pre and not wait for it to get worse.

I hope you find someone who will take care of you, your old doctor needs a big kick in his butt for being such a jerk.

Unfortunately, PCOS and cysts can cause that much pain and discomfort, depending on your individual case.  Having the strong family history of cancer that you have, you should keep going to the doctor often and keep an eye on those cysts.  The only way to prevent/cure certain medical condiitons is to catch them early.  You're going to be in pain whether or not you see the doctor, but you'll be worse off if you don't.  You need to know what's going on so that the problem doesn't get bigger and become cancerous.  Even cancer is curable, if detected on time, so please, keep going to the doctor and asks lots of questions.
