Yeah, worth a try. I mean, my last labour was great, and that was without knowing any of these techniques. I felt in control, and calm and forgot the pain between contractions - so with a bit of extra help I may have a really amazing birth for the next one.
I had hypnotherapy ohh 13 years ago, and found it to really help get into a better frame of mind.
I was thinking about doing this. but all hypnotherapy does is achieve deep relaxation and a connection inward. There's no swinging pendalum to watch lol! From what I've heard, you just listen to hypnotherapy cassette tapes or cds.
So I have been practicing lots of relaxation techniques that work great. I practice with ice cubes and have been getting better and better at ignoring the pain. It's all a matter of letting go... and letting your body do the work for you... accepting the pain/loss of control.. deep breathing..
Are you going to try it in labor?
