Is there a way to get cash assistance from the state without your bf getting put on child support ?

Yes add him to your case. If you are living together you can share a case because you have a child in common... Well that's how it works in NY anyways. My bf has never had to pay child support when we were on assistance because of that

Its not really worth the risk. If you get caught it looks terrible on ur credit report and ur record. Plus ts embarrassing.  You would have to file and say u dont know who the father is and they ask for the birth certificate. They tightened up on restrictions the past few years because so many people have abused it. If u really need it you should get it but be honest and ur bf will have to pay up eventually, but it takes time for them to pursue the child support, so if he gets a good job, he can afford to pay it back when they come around to asking for it.
