Baby Sleep Bags

I have a couple sleep bags for babys 0-6 months, two are summer ones at 1 tog and one is a winter one (living in Scotland it'll probably get used from October / November onwards).   Trying to find out what is better..... I'm a ftm so still getting used to a lot of things.   I've read some reviews that say just swaddle your baby for the first couple months, other reviews say cover them with a blanket until you put them in the sleep bag......any one know?     Bump i sdue in 10 days so trying to get my last few questions answered xx

I have two summer ones and one winter one so far, they button over the shoulder then zip round the bottom for easy access for nappy changes.  I'm waiting til its born til I get more as I dont know the sex of my baby and dont want everything being cream / white lol x

My son always slept in a long-sleeved snap-crotch tee shirt and a sleepsack.  Safer than a blanket, because he couldn't get his head buried in it.  But to each mommy her own.

ps -- if you like sleepsacks or swaddles, get more than one if you don't want to have to deal with the laundry in a rush if the baby leaks out of his or her diaper in the night.

I have a good few blankets and a shawl all bought, and I have mitts / socks / sleepsuits as well but I'm just trying to think about how best to care for baby so he / she doesn't get too hot in the night.   I rarely have the heating on high (normally about 18 degrees celcius) because neither baby daddy or I like to be too hot, so the house is never above twenty degrees, x

It is best just to swaddle because they get hot really fast. Less is more in the case of babies. Recieving blanket and big blanket with socks long sleeve shirts and long light pants is good enough when its cold. Unless it is crazy cold than you need a good jacket.
