It makes sense I just didn't know it was the law? Cause I've never heard that and kids I have been around were front facing before 1 year old...
It's also the law in Britain. It's to do with weight distribution and the way a car seat reacts in a collision when facing rearward vs forward. You should also never out your baby into a car seat while wearing a coat as it will cause the harness to disengage in the even of a collision, causing baby to be flung from the sea
Wyoming is 1 year by law but recommended until age 2 due to the neck muscles not fully developing until around age 2. I switched my oldest on his first birthday and my youngest around 18mo. I do agree most states its min of one year old by the laws though.
That's The Law In Illinois to
It is the law everywhere in the US, it is also suggested that they stay backward facing even longer such as 2 - 4 years, it is actually very benefical for the baby to be backward facing for longer bc of carwrecks. If you look it up there are a lot of studies on the effects of backward facing children and how many lives it saves and the risk of injury is SO SO SO much lower
Ohh I did not know that! Thank you ladies!!!
That's the law in NC, VA and MA so I'm assuming it's the law pretty much everywhere
