A lot of women will get pressure down below. It is just that the baby is making its way down, this is really common. I didn't know my daughter was going to show up, I hoped she was, but I woke up at 5 in the morning to my water breaking, before this there were no signs, but I did walk A LOT that whole weekend before.

Yeah, me too, first time they did it for me, its a horrible feeling! When I went into labour second time all on my own I have no recollection of them going at all, my brain must've been elsewhere by then cos I dont think she was born in the caul..they didnt tell me if she was anyway! x

Hehe maybe! :) fingers crossed anyways :) I really can't wait to give him a cuddle ... Really lol I always thought (before I got pregnant) that your waters braking was the only indicator or labour lol just simply because of the whole movie stereotype waters braking in middle of shopping centre scenarios  lol! x

Yes I want a water birth etc so I'm hoping I don't get induced and stuff I just want him to come on his own though I was feeling a little worried because I haven't had a bloody show or anything really.. I have lost some mucus but nothing dramatic.. lol .. I'ts good to know that it can just be so sporadic! lol .. hopefully he will just come soon then on his own :) thanks

have you tried walking???? i mean walking alot... you will be tired but it may (or may not help). i was 38 weeks and not near my due date but one day i started to have braxton hicks so i started to walk. i went to the mall and walked the entire mall went home to eat and rest for couple hourshen went to a different mall and walked that entire mall also... contractions didnt start immediately but with in a couple hours they begin to get stronger and by 3am next morning was in active labor

I wasnt dialated enough to get this done... as you have to be somewhat dialated... but my sister had it done with both and each time it did kick start labour for her...

Membrane sweep, also known as membrane stripping or stretching... where the midwife or doctor "sweeps" a finger around your cervix (neck of your womb) The aim is to separate the membranes around your baby from your cervix. This releases hormones called prostaglandins, which may kick-start your labour

I know people that have had no signs at all.  They had sweeps done and they didn't help at all.  They all ended up being induced.

I had no signs until I woke up with period like pain. I had my daughter 4 hrs later!! I had a sweep the day before labour, but I was 4 days overdue when she arrived. Dont panic, baby will come when he's ready, I think it was you who wanted the water birth so I hope you manage to go on your own, you'll need as little interference as possible for that to happen x

Everyone is different but I didn't have any signs with my last two. My first one woke me up and the second I was at work and my contractions started. My water never broke until right before I had them. I was at the hospital less than 3 hours before I had either one of them.
