I have three children and one on the way. All of which I have drank caffinated beverages. My children are fine. They say it can be linked to ADHD, but my oldest has ADHD and my other two DON'T. So who can really say? I think in moderation you will be fine. Shoot, we inhale and consume worse things on a daily basis without even knowing it. Think about it, for year they said nuts were bad for cholesterol and now it has certain health benefits. There are many other products like that. So really, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't........
Thank you! I guess Ill be switching to decaff..You guys are the best!
I have a cup a day ... my doctor told me that's fine. It's just a concern when you have like 5-6 a day ... that's usually when it's too much.
I would go for decaf because then you still get the flavor, but no caffeine:) Win-win! I have a BAD problem with Dr. Pepper and I am now 23 weeks along. I have a little with my lunch usually every day to get my fix. It is totally up to you--I really think a little caffeine daily is okay.
i craved coffee when i was pg with DS, doc said it wasn't good but about 4-8 oz is all i should have in one given day! i used cream in mine all the time as well and the doc said that was better, than to have just the straight coffee.
There are a lot of mixed medical opinions out there regarding this so you should do what you feel comfortable with both physically and emotionally...caffeine is tough to kick so if you decide to cut it out of your diet do it slowly by switching to a mix of decaf and regular...I personally gave it up while I was prego but I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks...however I quickly went back to my old habit and it is a b**** to kick it again! good luck and make the right decision by consulting your doctor and your own feelings.
i didnt drink once i found out i was preg.4w2d, but once i hit the 3month mark i just had one cup a day. but i like a lot of milk w/ my coffee. so it really wasnt a whole lot of coffee
We had recent media attention to this and they say none. I switched to decaff tea because I read things on the internet to say it affects implantation. You're already past that though :) I have two friends with healthy babies and they drank tea like it was going out of fashion. Coffee has a bit more caffeine in it though. I think it's more personal opinion but I would say switch to decaff.
