Emotional Roller Coaster

I went off birth control one month ago due to some blood work needing to be done.  My husband and I have been talking about having a baby sometime in the near future and have had sex a decent amount of times without a condom since I went off birth control.  Obviously my cycle is a little out of whack and I think I am currently ovulating based on CM.

When I told him last week I was considering taking a pregnancy test (since I wasn't sure what my cycle was doing with going off the pill mid pack) he got really excited and really hoped I would be pregnant.  Now, he is going back and forth about how excited he'd be and made a really sad face when I told him the test came back negative but I'd recheck in a week or 2 if I still hadn't gotten my period.  Today when I started having cramping I thought maybe it was my period coming on in a day or two, but then my CM looked more like ovulation time and the pain is likely my normal Mittelschmerz that I forgot how it felt due to being on the pill for the past 2 years.  He said "we should use a condom tonight".  So, he is now fearing the possibility of becoming pregnant and not having things in "order"... using terms like "I would feel responsible if it happened now".  Etc.

I told him that I had emotionally gotten excited and when we will ever be 100% ready... he understand, but he doesn't understand.  Anyone else going through this or had gone through it before getting prego?

PS.  I have a 6.5 year old son from previous marriage and I came very close to death during delivery.  I always thought I wouldn't ever do it again, so it took a lot of emotional preparation to allow myself to consider it again... now this?

On 3rd of July I had some light bleeding and nothing happen on the 4th or on the 5th but on the 6th day I spoted at 10:30 pm and nothing after that. Then on the 11th day I got 2 pg test and they both didn't registered. And now I go to the bathroom more then I did before and when I start hurting really bad I eat alot and sometimes it stops and it doesn't hurt as bad. But the pain is on the left side and sometimes the pain is on the left side of my navel. This is the first time anything like this has ever happen to me and I don't know what to do about. And last night I could not sleep at all because of the pain. It was like me giving birth all over again. I hope that someone out there could help me out. Thank you for listening to me and my problems.

Thanks! That was wonderful advice.  I already feel a lot better.  And also thanks for disregarding my spelling errors... I re-read my post and realized I had a few mistakes. LOL.

I can tell you this, It can be wierd for me. Because even tho at one time they'll think they're ready, they aren't SURE. not like us women are. ya know?

Honestly, I think that if you dont' even bring up babies and condoms or anything and just BD (babydance) when you feel like it he won't feel the pressure and when he finds out he'll be happy. See, if you don't bring it up (not even about taking a test) then even tho it's in the back of his head he's not forced to truly confront it and have doubts.

Guys are wierd, my dh told me that in order to get pregnant with my next baby in 2 year, I'll have to get off BC and not tell him! he actually told me to do that!!!
