Wow thanks for the insight! I think I'll do all natural the first time and if it's something I just dread to do for subsequent pregnancies then I'll do epidurals down the line. Thanks ladies for your inputs, I really appreciate it from all of you. But I don't want to end this thread lol you ladies are insightful and really nice!
Im 5"2 n im not petite but im not fat lol this is my third baby and ive had 2 all natural births no meds whats so ever ive always been scared of the epadural because ive seen a friend get paralized with that stuff i understand if u have to have it but if not i say go natural its a blessing n yes its painfull but ita only 1 day in ur life plus its for ur child its not as bad if u walk everyday it helps for birth and in my opinion only 8th 9th n10th cenemeter hurts the rest r ok :) im pretty good with pain too n i did good so now with this one ima go natrual too :) goodluck girl but whatever u decide is ok its ur body everybody has diff feelings for epidural :D
Everybody keeps telling me that I will gain weight and it'll be like boom lol
So after a certain point can you not push the button anymore?
I had an appointment today and talked to my doctor about it and she actually said that epidurals actually don't mess up your back it's in fact the actual birthing process that causes back pain because the baby's pushing on your muscles and bones and stuff. That's reassuring, like for real.
See I was a big baby and my mom did natural with my sister and I. Lol I was 9lbs 8ounces. But then for me she was like it was the worst pain she's ever experienced. I'm pretty petite, 5feet 1inch and a small body frame and my mom was smaller than me. I'm afraid my baby will be big too lol like I eat a lot I mean A LOT and I don't gain weight even with this baby.
If you have high pain tolerance try Natural, I can say I have high pain tolerance and went Natural with my first and I'll be doing it again with this baby. Every body says I'm crazy and should be getting one this time cause I already experienced it Natural and think that it would have changed my mind. Nope it's still the same. I more scared of that damn thing going in my back and the stories I've heard. I've had a better birth experience Natural than a few mommy's I know that had an epidural (:
My epidural worked great, but then wore off right when it came time to push. Made the last half hour of intense contractions much more bearable though and didn't cause any nerve or back pains.
Yes the button thing is true once igot mine they told me that if i thought i needed.more to press the button and i would.recive more. But only if I wanted more(:
That is true with the button
I heard they give this button or something that gives more doses whenever you need it, is that true?
I had one my first go round but as soon as it was time to push it wore off I FELT EVERYTHING it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The contractions is what I couldn't take
I had one. Took about 2 minutes to put it in. Worked for hours and it was awesome. Also I had to get an emergency c section so it made it possible for me to be awake during the procedure.
The pain on one side hurts but its still some relief when i went into labor i had no plan because i knew i would change it once i was in pain but it really doesn't hurt it feels like a bee sting as long as you stay relaxed and dont move if you move it can cause problems i think the iv hurt more since they had to dig for the vain
Aaaaand no epidural for me lol
No for real though, could it have been from them not being able to get it for three attempts?
My sister in law just had her baby. It took then 3 attempts. And she finally got it in, and now she said it hurts to sleep on her side/back and it hurts to stand for along time. She is going to the chiropractor every week now.
Yikes, sounds like so much fun -_-
My doctor told me that most women are asleep through most of the labor until it's like show time.
How is it feeling the pain on only one side?
Yeah you have to arch your back like a C and they want to make sure you dont move the explaining takes longer than the poke
Lol man ever since I got pregnant my attention span is like zero and my memory? What's a memory lol it's really bad I can only imagine myself, it being like 10 times worse
Lol its true there all trying to explain to me &im in this horrible pain &the doctor was just talking &talking lol -.-
I have back issues now (prior to the pregnancy) like if I'm standing for too long it'll start to hurt and I'm afraid it'll get worse!
Lol try to listen, that was funny. But yeah I've heard stories about how it'll mess your back up forever too.
I had one with my first i was in so much pain and so tired i was desperate and i was scared but it didn't hurt at all but like the other post it only worked on half my body also but it helped after 18 hours of labor they did a c section and put the meds needed in that with my 2nd child i did c section and got a spinal which don't hurt either never had any problems with either one causing back pain
Honestly i heard alot of stories about it&how its going to mess your back.forver but i havent felt any after my son,, he is.one already. In October im having a baby girl &i plan to get it again. I got the epidural once i could not handle the.pain. just listen or try to listen.lol to the doctors theyll tell you exactly what to do &what position to hold.once the.are going to give you the shot. (:
It didn't hurt me when they put it in last time I was more scared, but it only worked on my right side but did help alot with the pain and no, I haven't had any back problems afterwards and I plan on having it again (:
