ECV or C-SECTION???

Hi I'm 35+ weeks pregnant and my baby is breech, my midwife says if the baby hasn't turned by 36wks then she will book me in for ECV where they try and turn the baby externally but since seeing her i've read up on ecv and also seen a video of it being done, and to be honest both myself and my partner are concerned.1, it looks quite painful, 2, i've had a previous cesarian, and 3 there are risks involved and we don't want to risk the baby in any way. Do we do the ecv or opt for c-section again???

If I had to make this decision, I would opt for the repeat c-section, especially if I had already had one.  The decision is yours but I thought I'd tell you what I would do if faced with this.

it is my understanding that the procedure is very risky.  I would not take the chance.  If you have already had one c-section i would go for another. Best of luck with your decision.

You do what you and your partner feel is best...for you and the baby....If you're really nervous about ECV and it causing harm to the baby, then go with the C-section, if you have had luck with that in the past...You never know, the little one may turn his/her self within the next week so you won't have to make the decision!  Good Luck!

There is another poster on here that had her baby turned.  She was really concerned also.  But she had it done and said it was not painful.  Her baby was fine.  From what I understand, the main concern is that it could cause you to start having contractions.
