Hospital bag

hi ftm here, I am 35 weeks and I was wondering what should I pack in the hospital bag and the needs for the hospital. I would honestly like to have the bag packed an in the car here within the next week or so. I stay between my place and my fiances house so I just don't wanna be without if I happen too into labor. Any help would be helpful TIA (:

Lol its si sad that we worry about hospital bags smh I probably went more in my small makeup bag then anything lol didn't wanna look like crap afterward. Don't worry too much about it. Trust me I went Crazy Even Bought A cute robe and slippers (never wore it). Spent like 100 dollars on a PINK outfit. Smh OH lord

For my first I packed all of those things and never had to go in my bag until I went home lol it's true all you need is change of clothes for going home for you and baby I tried to use something I brought to put on my baby and they took it off by the time it was time for them to wipe her down and wrap her and bring her back lol she hated pacifier so it was a waste lol thank god they were gifts from my baby shower I never used the diapers I brought or wipes I actually got a lot from the hospital my doctor was from my country so she hooked me up and kept giving me a whole bunch to take home and stuff you dnt need a breast pump your baby will be there to suck on it and depending on how you give birth if vaginal you go home like the next day unless something is wrong if c section it's like three to four days I was there for four days only because they found out my daughter had jaundice on the third day I was suppose to go home and said I can leave or stay over night with her while they put her under the blue lights but yea honestly your child's father's will need more than you cause they don't provide anything for him lol so yes personal toothbrush paste shampoo body wash bedroom slippers pillows goin home clothes underwear bras for baby goin home clothes blankets pacifier if he or she takes it just a little bit of diapers if you want and a car seat cause you can't leave if you don't have one and it has to be put in properly they actually had my cousin do it over again and right lol

I definitely agree with ftmmay22, you don't don't want to over pack, especially as you'll need room to take things home like hospital pads, gifts, and most hospitals let you take some diapers and such home.

Don't bother changing into your own clothes as you bleed so much you're likely to bleed through them.

And don't bother bringing little outfits for baby, the hospitals provides what they need, and putting them in tons of cute outfits is just too much work.

Don't bring a breastpump, you won't have time to use it and you won't have the milk to pump. If you're worried about bringing in supply, don't worry, baby does that for you lol. The second night is the worst, baby will feed for HOURS lol.

If you are in fact breastfeeding bring a nursing pillow! Best decision I ever made because it can be hard to feed in those hospital beds. Also bring lanolin cream, breast pads, and a supportive nursing bra as your nipples are going to be SO sore.

Comfy socks are a must, as are comfy going home clothes for you and baby. Pack a small bag of travel hygenine products (you don't need huge ones), make sure to bring your IDs, pack a couple of snacks (hospitals are notorious for long waits for food), phone chargers, a hairbrush, and ruinable undies if your hospital doesn't provide its own (which you should totally use and take a bunch with you if you do).

Ask your dr next time you go what the hospital provides, its useful information as lugging giant bags out with you and new baby is pretty annoying. Good luck!

I was so worried about what to g
Have in my hospital.bag and mine was ready by the time I was 36 weeks. Honestly I didn't use half the **** I had in there lol  first I recommend asking your hospitals what do they provide for instance my hospital provided diapers, wipes, formula which is pretty much what the baby needs. You will most likely be instance your gown for your stay so don't even bother packing much for yourself I recommend taking


For YOU

A comfy going home outfit
Maternity bra ( if you are planning to brestfeed)
Underwear (are one hospitals provide them hut I think it's gross)
Travel size essentials my hospital had a toothbrush and toothpaste but you could take your own, hair bruah, shampoos, conditioner TRAVEL SIZE you don't wanna carry huge things
I will be honest you really don't need anything else


FOR BABY
Comfy going home outfit, a little hat and mittens (obviously not heavy clothing if your due now during summer)
blanket
and a car seat

Im a ftm too , 37 weeks pregnant .. so far in the babys bag i have breast pump , bottles ,nursing pads , diapers , wipes  , (3) newborn and (3) 0-3 month onesies , socks and scratch mittens , recieving blankets , bibs , baby gowns , pacifiers . I don't know what my hospital supplies for baby , and i would prefer to use my own stuff anyways lol.

For my bag i have ... 2 pairs of socks , 4 pairs of undies , (2) change of clothes , pajamas , hairbrush ,  toothbrush + toothpaste , shampoo + conditioner , pads , (2) change of clothes and pajamas for hubby , nursing bras oh yeah and bodywash... see what your hospital provides for you..
