I Am 23 & My Girlfriend Is Pregnant, How Do I Tell My Parents????

I Am 23, me and my girlfriend of 5 years just found out that she is 6 months pregnant but she doesnt even look pregnant. no signs of showing or anything but our son is healthy as a horse. i am like the poster child of my family, good college kid, good grades, star athlete etc, but i dont know how to tell my parents. i know im grown & everything but idk how to tell my family. any ideas?

With my first pregnancy I called my mother and asked her if maternity stuff was covered on my insurance plan (I was on her insurance at the time). That's how she found out. She told my dad for me because he can be harsh. With my second pregnancy I told my mom on a car ride and called my dad to tell him. With the first pregnancy they weren't surprised but they weren't pleased. They got over it quickly though and were super excited to have a grandson on the way. I am still in college so they were worried about my schooling. But they have seen that I havent taken any time off or quit and my now husband and I are doing well. So my parents are not worried about it as much. I would just try to calm whatever worries you predict them having. I constantly had to reassure mine that I wasn't going to quit school and that I had solid plans of how to handle full time college while having a kid.

who is more of a softie mum or dad???? my mums the hard nutt! so I told her first it made her feel special cos I knew she would have angry words. she was just wrapped she was the first to know. my dad a softie and goes with the flow so he came after. always get the hardest parent out of the way. when u have suceeded everything else will fall into line. congrats on ur little man im having a little man too. goodluck and all the best :p

You should sit them down and explain you love them very much and it was just as unexpected for you as it is for them and that it isn't going to change your future. You still plan to achieve etc. let them know how much you love your girl and baby :)

I texted my mom because I was scared of my dad. haha, but they took it WAAYYY better than expected..now they buy her everything in sight. haha. good luck and congrats.
