Cnhauk is correct.doctors go by your last period.so they are correct in saying your 16 weeks.ovulation happened 2 weeks later but we dont know exact date.a pregnancy is 38 weeks but due to them not knowing your ovulation 2 weeks is added making a pregnancy 40 weeks.
My second child I had the same thing.... They told me an impossible date.... I swear he ended up being 3 weeks overdue cause of that....
They count pregnancy from the first day of your last period since most people don't know the day of conception. Hence why they are saying you are 16 weeks instead of 14. Also babies grow at their own rate after 13 weeks and can measure a couple of weeks behind or ahead or right on schedule. My last pregnancy my daughter measured right on then 3 weeks behind so I wouldn't be too concerned about the measurements being off.
I read that from the moment of conception you are considered 2 weeks. So the 14 weeks you are plus those 2 weeks equal the 16 weeks they say you are. Good luck!
Doctors can be wrong on the dates but if two different ones say that your 16 weeks, then you should go by that. And it's possible to have one twin older than the other. Crazy things happen! Congrats on the pregnancy!!!
