Flu Shot while Pregnant

Hey Ladies,

Tomorrow my company is giving the Flu Shot for free.  Well, I think I may be ovulating today and me and hubby had sex yesterday evening, so conception is a possibility.  Does anyone know if it is safe to take the Flu Shot if conception is taking place......like now.  Last year was my first time to get the Flu Shot and I wasn't pregnant, so I have never had to know the answer to this.

Thanks ladies :)

Yep... pregnant women are supposed to get them.  Just let them know you might be pregnant because I was given a shot without a perservative and something else in it.  (can't remember what that "something else" was!)

It's fine to get while pregnant......I'm a nurse and they pretty much demand that we get them at work...I called my OB before doing it to verify and they said it's OK

Hello, I am not sure about conception part.  But I am now pregnant and my doctor said I am allowed to get a flu shot or if they have the low dosage kind for pregnant women it would be better.  She said as long as I don't get the nasal kind with the actual live virus and will sometimes give you a slight fever after having it.  needle is good.  I am thinking it would be the same for you since we are after the baby's health and safety right?

But if you are not feeling okay about it I say just skip it.  and just stay as healthy as you can and take necessary precausions.
