Need URGENT Advice for ovulation after miscarriage

hi everyone.  I was overjoyed to find out that i was pregnant two weeks ago.  But last week (thursday - 3rd july) i had a bit of spotting.  This went on to full red bleeding for friday and saturday and today (sunday) the bleeding has slown to almost nothing.  Also today we went for a full scan which found that there was nothing left inside the cervix.  Doctors have said that most likely i have had a miscarriage and that i've lost the baby through the heavy bleeding.  The doctors have said that I won't need a D&C though.

I would have been 6 weeks pg tomorrow (monday) and going through this first miscarriage loss has really put me down because i was looking forward to this baby but the mc was very early that i think this is the reason it has made it easy for me to keep looking forward and not to dwell on what was not meant to happen.  I have heard that after a miscarriage, a woman is more fertile and the chances of getting pregnant are higher.  Therefore i want to take my chances and have another go for my ovulation.

Now i want to know a few things regarding ovulation after miscarriage and would be very grateful if anyone can guide me.

First of all let me give you some info:- my last period was on may 26th and if i wasn't pregnant then my last period would have been on june 23rd and my next period would be 21st july.  My cycle is always 28 days, give or take day.  My ovulation is also always 14 days from the first day of my cycle.

Now my questions are:-

1.  Just like a period 1st day is classed from the start of full-flow bleeding, which day do i class a miscarriage from?
2.  Is having a miscarriage classed as having a period?
3.  From the info i have given you, what is the most likely day/date i will ovulate?

Sorry for such a long post, but i would be very grateful if someone could help me ASAP.

thank you

xx

The other girls are right......it sometimes takes several months for your body to readjust itself after a loss.....The only thing that I can suggest is perhaps trying to use OPT's until you get a +.  Some people claim not to have luck with them, I always have.  Just a suggestion.
Also, I'm very sorry for your loss.

I agree with Diane, it can be very difficult to know when your cycle will resume its normal course. I will tell you this though my cycles returned to normal almost immediately following a natural m/c (no d&c). When I did have a d&c a couple of months before I had to have the d&c and it took six weeks for my period to show up I was so convinced I was pregnant again and was very sad when AF reared her ugly head. Anyways so having had a natural m/c I think you can expect things to get back to normal relatively quickly and if they don't the good news is that i have heard women are more fertile for up to 3 cycles after a miscarriage!! Good luck to you.

hiya.  Thank You for your prompt reply.  Yes I have been charting for a while now and i ovulate 14 days from the 1st day of my period.  But when do i count it as my 1st day? from my period which was due or the first day of my miscarriage?

I'm sorry for your loss.  Unfortunatley after a m/c it's difficult to predict when you'll ovulate.  Your body has to get the pregnancy hormone back to zero.  They way it increases - doubles every 48 hrs or so (HCG) is the same way it goes down - by half every two days or so.  This cycle for you is going to be longer than your other cycles by nature of you having the miscarriage and your hormones needing to settle down.  I had two m/c's back to back - both early term (about 5 weeks - I went through fertility testing and found a blood issue for which I take baby aspirin. I now have a 12 day old son!).

Have you been charting your temps at all?  that might be a good way to predict or know when you're ovulating.  Best of luck!
