OT- everyone please pray!!!!
so my soon to be sister in law just gave birth on fri 6lbs 13 oz she is very beautiful lil girl but now my soon to be sister in law may have spiral meningitis i never had it or want it i have looked at some of the info on this and it dont sound too good i was just wondering if everyone could have her in your prayers and thought we are also hoping to go down there for thanksgiving but if she does have this dh says we cant so i am really hoping she dont as we both miss his family terribly and also dh mom has been going threw chemo for the last 9 months or so for cancer i am just wishing this year we could have a break and have some good news
I agree..... Bacterial is worse than viral and meningitis in children/babies tends to lead to deafness (I have a couple deaf friends who are deaf from it.)
I speak fluent sign language which is a cool thing.... :) If any of you have to deal with this a s a result of VM or BM check out the signing times DVDS. they're for kids but work awesome and adults can learn along w/them

my daughter had bacterial meningitis in august and she is 5! theres many different kinds of bacterial meningitis though!! they caught it early enough in my daughter that she had no effects from the illness! email me personally if you have any questions about this, i am a nurse also so i did in depth research when my daughter had it! i will keep her in my prayers its the scariest thing ever, do you know if its bacterial or viral! (viral is not a severe as bacterial)

I had a friend who came down with it and I think his was bacterial...so all of us close to him had to take a pill to try to protect ourselves because they weren't sure where he got it (although that seems bizarre in retrospect...) It was a long illness, but he survived :). Viral, from what I understand, is much easier to treat and rarely fatal in most cases, so let's pray that if she has it, that's the one she's got. But like I said it's not hopeless in either case because my friend survived! Prayers for you and your family <3
