That's why kids are fussy and active when the mom is rushing around trying to cook dinner, after they are born. They learned the active/restful pattern of the normal day from her when they were in the womb. Baby was probably hungry, too, looking for a spike in blood sugar that comes from you eating at the normal time.
It very well could be the change in routine, because if you monitor when your baby is active, and up and kicking, (for me) it was around the same time each day, and that ended up being about the same he was up at night when he was born! Babies get a sense of normalcy even before birth!
