Pinworms :(

Sorry for disgusting question but im really worried. Its my first pregnancy and im 8 weeks. I work in a creche and seem to have picked up pinworms :( :( Doctor says i cant take anything. Im just wondering did this happen to anyone else and can it affect the baby. Also how do i get rid of them naturally and how long does it take. I feel horrible and im really scared incase they are taking all if babys nutrients :( .. Thanks in advance x

I had to deal with this in my second pregnancy and I found stuff on the internet that said eat lots of garlic and cabbage and honestly it helped a lot. U can also put Vaseline on ur anis to help too. I hope this helped good luck

I don't think it will take nutrition from the baby, or even from you.  These are pretty small worms, and the human race has survived for millenia with worms and nothing to take for them, and didn't die out from lack of babies.  You could google folk remedies for pinworms, but don't take anything questionable.  Your doctor doubtless considered the odds of harm of letting you continue with pinworms, against the odds of harm of taking a worm poison.  If he thought there was any risk to the baby of just letting the worms ride along with the pregnancy, he would have given you a different answer about treatment.  Unfortunately, what pinworms can do is give you an itchy anus at night.  Sorry about that.
