Can you not take your own gowns? Or does it HAVE to be a hosp one???
for the actual birth? Cause I know you can take your own for after?... That didnt make ANY SENSE!

You will have to wear a hospital gown without undergarments. Chances are no matter how much (or how little) pubic hair you have the nurses have seen worse. Not everyone poops during labor though many women do. But most nurses are really good at whisking it away without you even knowing it happened.
Keep in mind these nurses and doctors have seen many many things and what you may find embarrassing is normal everyday stuff for them. I hvae given birth vaginally 4 times so far. I honestly couldn't tell you if I've pooped or not. The nurses are always very discreet and never make a big deal out of things.
With my SIL... as she was in labour for 2 days, BUT they encouraged her to have a bath! OH I AM SO THERE... LOL.
I havent been in labour yet. But my step mum has had 6 kids so I have seen it all. LOL.
She has never poooped, Unless you take caster oil to induce labour, you will more than likely not poo. And if you do. You will be sooo busy pushing and then so happy to see your little one you wouldn't care anyways. :)...
As for shaving... Again wouldn't bother them and you'll be sooooo busy concerntrating you wouldnt either. Or the embarrassment. :).. Ima try and shave as long as possible and when it gets to the point that I cant I will get a bikini wax... LOL...
wait acttualy... I'll get an extra long razor haha.
And yes you gotta get undressed, BUT you can take your own nighty, and dressing gown. They need to check the progress of you and baby but they cant do that if you got trousers on! Dont worry you'll have a blanket/cover as well. But you can take your own clothes I think. My step mum and my real mum have with all of their pregnancies. :)....
That way you might feel alot more comfortable.
And they makes you feel as comfortable as possible anyways :)

I agree with the above posters.
You will most likely change into a hopsital robe upon arriving in your hospital room.
Don't worry at all about pubic hair- i'm sure they really have seen it all! I always trimmed (not shaved) with like a beard trimmer when I was pregnant. Get your partner to help, if necessary.
I know pooping while delivering sounds like the biggest nightmare ever, but if you do you do, and believe me, at that point in time you will not really care and neither will anyone else. It happens.
From my experiences, labor and delivery nurses are AmAzInG and can answer all your questions, too.
Keep asking questions, the more you know going in, the more confident you will be.
I'll add to that just a bit.
1. If they decide you are staying, yes, they will have you disrobe. But, you will get a hospital gown (maybe two) to cover up. The nurses and/or doctors will need to check the progress of your labor vaginally from time to time.
2. Not only are doctors and nurses used to pubic hair, but a lot of pregnant women find shaving during the last month or two to be VERY difficult. In fact, most women I know would argue that a woman only seems to go into labor once she hasn't shaved in several days.
3. Not everyone poops. The doctors and nurses are aware that it happens and it won't shock them - but it's really not THAT common. The hospitals refuse food to women in labor to help prevent that from happening. Since you are worried, do your kegel exercises a few times a day - that will help you feel the difference between your vaginal and rectal muscles. Doing the exercises will also help ensure that your pushing during labor is more efficient.
Feel free to ask all the questions you want to - it's best to feel as comfortable as possible. Labor will take enough out of you without adding stress from unanswered questions.
Yes most hospitals require you to take off your clothes immediately
as far as the hair don't worry about it the nurses and Drs are use to it
the pooping thing well I have had three all natural births and never pooped but everyone is different
don't worry about being shy the nurses should make you feel very comfortable
