Question??

I found out I'm pregnant 4w 6d and when i visited my doc, he said I have two Corpus Luteal Cysts on my left ovary.  Does that mean that possibly 2 eggs were released?  He said it was too early to tell and my next appointment is on the 25th which I will be 7w 2d.  Please help if you can.

Thank you for posting that information for me Michele, Katy, TX.  I will have to wait 2 more weeks to see if having those cysts mean anything.  I did write to Brown Eyed Gurl and she wasn't aware of any cysts.  I will keep you posted!

The cyst she is talking about (Corpus Luteal) is a cyst that sometimes occurs when the egg is released from the ovary.  Some women get them and some don't.  If you get one, it is needed to sustain the pregnancy.  It goes away after you have the baby.  She was asking if she could be having twins because the doc saw 2 of those cysts.  So, she is wondering if there are two cysts, does that mean she had 2 eggs released and is having twins.

by having a cyst on your ovary can increase chances of having twins? I'm confused..I know I have a cyst on my ovary too.  Just wondering

I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks w/ 2 of mine, but if you don't see it then, don't get scared.  Some don't see a h/b until 8 weeks.  That's about all you will see.  But it's funny b/c if you have a scan at like 10 weeks, all of a sudden you can see little bitty arms and leg and the head.  It is soooo cute.  I love it.

I'm so excited for you.  Please keep us posted!!

Thank you I will ask her.  Will they be able to see much on the u/s at 7 weeks?  I'm very nervous as this is my 1st but excited at the same time.

Quite possibly since that is the source of the cysts.  Another poster is having twins.  Her screen name is Brown Eyed Girl.  Maybe she can shed some light (if she had cysts as not everyone gets them).
