Smoking. :(

I am first time mommy and 23 weeks along. I'm having a really hard time quitting smoking. I want to so badly. Every time I try I get upset about something or stressed out and I cave in. Everyone in my house is a smoker and it just makes it ten times harder to quit. I dont need negative comments or rude remarks. I need tips and advice on what helped other moms quit smoking. Please help!

You were very strong to come on here and admit that. It's really hard, I know that because I finally quit you just have to find what helps you the most. I wish you the best of luck!

I completely understand. I still hate lighting a cigarette. But I keep in mind that I've done everything else possible to keep my pregnancy in check.  Good luck hun x

My doctor said that she doesnt recommend smoking but she says if I can cut down to only three a day then I would most likely do no harm to my baby. I hope to quit but cutting down to only three a day would be major for me. Other woman on here dont understand how hard it really is. For me personally smoking is a 5 min break from all the chaos. I really hope to find something that works for me soon. Thanks ladies!

You are brave posting this, people get so annoyed. But I know exactly what you are going through. With my first two pregnancies I quit smoking and done everything right,  but I miscarried. Not saying the smoking is to blame just thats what happened. This time I didnt even know until it were too late. All I did was cut down from 25-30 a day to about 10-15 a day. I struggled at first. But it does get easier. Now I can go hours without even thinking about it. Keeping your hands busy is important. So maybe try some crafts. And also chew gum or a sugar free lolly. I found that helped too. I did try all these things you can buy but none seemed to work for me. You could be different. I've now got 4 days until my due date, and having a scan as they think baby is too big! Not small which is what I were expecting. He is in brilliant health though. A lot of midwifes will tell you to try and quit but to cut down first. As withdrawals can be far worse for your baby.
Sorry about the really long reply. Hope it helps in some way. As I know some people can be VERY judgemental on here.  X
