Dilation

Morning Ladies, do any of you have any suggestions on getting on with my labor, im 33 weeks, 5cm dilated and scheduled for an elective c-sec.  My lower half feels like its constantly running a marathon and it is killing me. My Gynie seems to think he will keep my baby in until the 17.06, clearly, i doubt this will happen

My C-sec is booked for the 17th, this is my second child and i had the exact same problem first time around, Morgan eventually came 2 weeks early after being induces for 2 days and sleeping through the entire process.  Only reason i wanted to make things happen sooner if possible was so that my gynie would change my date and bring it sooner.  Morgan was born at 37 weeks, im hoping for the same this time around

You do need to try to hang in there for a little while longer.  It is still so early.  You want your baby to be healthy.

I can understand why.  I am scheduled for a section on the 15th.  I wish that I could go into labor.  Now this may be a different reason than she wants but I want it b/c I would like to have the feeling (excitement) of going into labor.

At 33 weeks that baby isn't really ready to come out. You should try to hold it in as long as you can since giving birth that early can cause problems.

Uhm, if you're scheduled for an elective cesarean, then why, might I ask, do you need to progress your labor and dilation...?
