Do I even need a hospital bag?

I keep seeing posts for what should go in momma's hospital bag. I know I will need the baby bag of course with a blanket and some clothes and baby stuff but I live literally 5-10 min from the hospital I will be delivering at. And I'm not sure if I should even bother. I can imagine needing a change of clothes or a gown or something but a whole bag?! I'm not moving in lol.

With my first daughter , I didn't know much about packing a hospital bag ... if you feel that you don't need one then don't bother! I see some people on here packing excessive stuff that will NEVER be needed at a hospital . & I also work at a hospital where i've seen people bring in luggages like they were stayinh a year at the hospital . I say take what you REALLY need . Meaning a small bag with soap, a gown or two, something to leave the hospital in as in clothes, maybe some maxi pads or use the hospitals own, bra, toothpaste, Toothbrush, don't bring panties, & a outfit or two for the baby . I would leave all the other stuff at HOME.

You may want your own pillow and some slippers/robe may make you feel more human. That hospital bed is uncomfortable! Use colored pillowcases so they don't get mixed up with white hospital bedding. We brought out own swaddle blankets for out lil guy and the ones we used are still his favorites!

Just a clean outfit and a hair brush(if you can't use a comb). I live 3 towns away from my hospital and I'm only packing maybe 3 outfits(I have to stay 3 days) my brush,I have thick hair and a comb won't work! And my own soap/shampoo and lotion. I don't need make up,hair dryer. That's just unneeded for a short stay. I don't care how I look. Honestly I only had time for 1 5 min shower and that was right before going home. I was to busy with the baby or sleeping.

Here's the thing.  I live literally 2 minutes away from the hospital.  I packed a bag with a bunch of stuff and i didn't use anything but deodorant and a change of clothes.  You really won't have as much time as some women think.  You're busy with baby the whole time. My advice....less is more. My hospital provided anything i would need anyways.

Briiab, my cousin stayed at the hospital that I will be at for 2 wks. When he needed clothes we brought it. The only additional things he asked for besides clothes were his toothbrush and paste because he is particular about that. They brought him a toiletries bag and it had good products in it. Colgate, and Pantine and other name brand items. Like I said up at the top I know I'll need a grown probably and clothes but do I really need my makeup blow dryer hair iron and other stuff I mean I'm not putting on a show it's a hospital lol.

I've never heard of anyone not wanting to bring a bag to the hospital or rather feeling like they don't need one. Just saying, who wants to use nasty hospital soap and not have ur own facial cleaners and change of clothes, underwear..not just for the baby bt u need personal items for yourself

You honestly don't need a lot especially since nowadays you stay about a day....if you are more comfortable in your own pj's I'd pack a pair and clothes for you to go home in. A small bag of toiletries with toothbrush outta be it for you. The car seat and baby stuff you will be set. I brought a couple of jammies for my last baby and a blanket and dressed her right away BC I preferred my clothes over the hospitals and I knew we would be having a lot of family visiting so the pics were cute....but it is not required. We live super close to the hospital so that was always an option for me, but my hubby did not want to leave the hospital.
