Very Pissed, Black names/White names...Is there a such thing?

Ladies check this out, this really pissed me off:
I'm a Black female named Amy, yes its rare but we do exsist! LOL  My husband is named Patrick which I guess can go either way.  My question is; is there a such thing as a black name and a white name?  My neighbor that lives above me (white lady) asked "oh have you picked out a name yet?"  I told her the only thing we've been able to come up with so far has been Chancellor.  She looked at me and said "that's a white name isnt it?"  I was so offended that I gave her a snotty look and walked off.  She spoke to me again this morning but I didnt even speak back.  As I think about it, it seems kind of silly, and because I'm bigger than the bullsh*t I will speak to her again but I do feel the need to ask her what makes a name a color?  Do any of you ladies know?

Obviously this woman has come into the 21st century yet...I say let her remarks slide in one ear and out the other and name your child anything you please.

That is just crazy!! I am half black and half white.....what do you name children who are bi-racial then?? lol. =)  I like the name you picked out. It doesn't matter what race you are. That is just awful for someone to say that. Hopefully she will come to her senses. =)

I live in a very diverse city full of african-americans, muslims, asians---white people are the minority here. And I know young black girls named Ashley or Joann. And then I know young black boys named Akukarach and Jugbear (juh-bear) and Sunday. A lot of our youth group kids are from the Sudan and they have Sudanese names and they also have American names (like Joe, Bob, Frank, etc.) that they go by.

So you see, while most of the time it is a culture thing, it doesn't make it wrong to choose any name you want! I don't think Chancellor sounds white or black. It just sounds sophisticated, no skin color attached!

id slap that lady in the mouth :) haha but thats just me!!.. i think some names you hear more commonly among certain races, BUT i do not believe that a name is any certain "race"..as long as you like the name, thats all that matters!!! ugh that woman needs a reality check thats for sure..and i like your name you have picked out..very very cute!!! if we have a boy we have the name Alex Xander Neal(neals the last name)..i dont really care for the alexander, so i said why dont we split it up and get a first and middle out of it...makes it easier on me..LOL

my SIL just had a lil girl in august and she named her diamond capri...a few people told her that they thouhgt it sounded more like a black name, which i thought was very offensive, i dont think it matters as long as you like the name , personally i love it, it's different that's all!!! i think chancellor is a beautiful name, if i have a lil girl i plan to name her Khloe Delayne just because i have never heard of Delayne before...as for a boys name probably Keaton or Kyler. pick as you please, dont mind those nossy neighbors.
