For me recieving blankets and swaddlers were a waste of money. And you do need a changing table unless you plan on changing your baby on the floor. Also a diaper pail or diaper genie, i personally like the pail better, is great to have!
THANK YOU LADIES ... I still have some shopping to do this weekend !
Congrats!!that's my birthday!!! You definitely need receiving blankets, onsies, cotton towels, lots of burp rags and bibs. I would have to disagree about the changing table, I used one with my daughter and its much easier to clean up pee or poop or puke off a changing table than your bed or couch. I did have a swaddler you can get them just about anywhere and my daughter loved it. And maybe a pair of mittens, finger nails grow so fast that I cut hers everyday and she still managed to scratch her pretty little face. Oh and lots of sock, little toes get soooo cold and heads to. I always had a hat on her head. The Dr will tell you that the head is the main spot to loose heat. I think that covers it tho.
I am a ftm also and I am due the 5th or 12th of April depending on which doctor I ask lol....anyways the things I have bought that I felt were needed were onesies, mittens a first aid baby kit. So I have the nose sucker thingy. Towels for baby. Pampers swaddlers in NB and size 1, alcohol wipes for the cord to clean it when needed, booties for her little feet. The car seat of course. An outfit for photos since everyone in my family wants her glamor shots right away lol. My midwife gave me a list of must haves. And that is what all I listed above. I have some other things I thought of but for needs my midwife said the list wasn't long at all. Good luck sweets and we are so close to the same due date. Best of luck and hope you are like me and can't wait to meet your lo.
Buy some onesies. They are comfortable for baby. You need also cotton baby towels ( I don't know what they are called exactly, but they come in packs of 12, or you can buy single ones). You'll need them for putting on your shoulders when you pat baby's back to remove gas. They are also great for wiping when baby spits milk. I have about 2 dozens that I used with my son. ..will just reuse them with my daughter. God bless
Congrats! First off you most deff should buy swaddle blankets they work miracles and of course diapers and wipes. Buy a box or two of newborn diapers she won't be in newborn diapers for long. Stock up on size one diapers. You don't need a changing table..you'll barely use it. You'll need the mittens for her hands so she won't scratch herself.
