90% rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle does wonders. It destroys the existing bugs exoskeleton and kills the eggs on contact by drying out the protective coating. I would advise spraying thoroughly and vacuuming about an hour later. It's the most natural way to get rid of them. It worked for me. Although I didn't have an infestation, just a few I saw on my mattress. Done over 4 days, they were completely gone.

I would absolutely have bed bugs professionally removed.  so much better than unreliable over the counter from the hardware store types of fogging. They'll give you lots of information in terms of what to do.

I'd say before because I'd want to make sure ALL bed bugs are gone before you bring a baby home.  And remember, they are tough to get rid of.  You have to be in a program where they try to check for them after they treat for them to make sure they got them all.

If you have a landlord, hold them to removing them fully!  Even if you brought something with them in it/on it---  they need to have it professionally handled.  *I am a landlord and checked on this when one of our tenants brought in bed bugs.  WE paid for the treatment 100 percent because it was our property, our obligation and it is not good if the infestation is allowed to grow, so we wanted it handled properly with a professional.  So, your landlord may flip the bill for this as we did.  Don't be scared to tell them.  Even if you fear you bought a bed or couch or something and brought them in.  They don't need to know where they came from other than you now have them in the place.  :>)

good luck

You should probably just go stay somewhere while the professionals do the whole house. Bed bugs travel fast and could be in your couches and pillows and carpet padding already. Bed bugs are disgusting and most people who have a full infestation end up spending about 5k fumigation and replacing things that can't be saved

Are you using a bedbug pro?  They might be able to advise you.  But I agree, you don't want to bring baby home to a bedbuggy place.  You will probably need a new mattress, unless the professionals can save it.
