I deliver at a birthing center that has only private rooms and also doesn't separate delivery from recovery so I go from admission to discharge all in the same room. The major hospital in the same city that most women deliver at has shared postpartum rooms, which are on a different floor from labor and delivery so those new moms have to move. That isn't why I chose the birthing center but it certainly doesn't hurt the experience to have a private and quiet space with consistency of staffing throughout.
My hospital its all twin rooms, I dont see the problem with sharing at all, it gives you a chance to meet another mum with a bub of the same age, also you are barely in there, be thankful that you have a bed for you and bub and not in a 3rd world country where they give birth without any drugs and are sent home that day
With no first yes with no second no. My hospital judges how high risk you are and if you need to be looked after abut more you get a single room if your pretty adequate on your on your own they'll put you in a shared room, you don't get a choice though it's up to the midwifes.
At my hospital you have to request a single room and it costs extra that insurance may not cover.
Yess the other lady baby cried the whole timeeeeee. But im not going there this time
