11 days post transfer, spotting and a neg result :(

Hi there, yesterday was my 11th day post embryo transfer (1st IVF) and was told that was the earliest I could do a preg test, or I could wait until day 14. Just before I did the test yesterday, I noticed a very slight discharge with blood spots when I wiped, but it was very little, then stopped. I was extremely worried and just had an awful feeling that the test would be negative. Unfortunately it was. My husband and I were devastated as we have been trying for 4 1/2 years (I'm 32, with endometriosis). I had been taking progesterone pessaries (400mg) twice a day since egg collection. I phoned the clinic yesterday morning to tell them the result and was advised to stop taking the progesterone and wait another 2-3 days to see if AF arrives and if not do another test. I have been cramping lots and generally feel strange in my tummy, just feel full and have had sore breasts until a few days ago. Is it possible that I could still be pregnant when I test on Saturday morning and could the spotting be delayed implantation bleeding? Any advice would be gratefully received. Best wishes, xxx

I did a 5 day transfer and it was of a very high grade.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will test again on day 14, but have been told to stop taking the progesterone. I asked if this was a good idea and was told that it wouldn't harm the baby if I miss a couple of days if I am pregnant, but could do me more harm if I hold off AF if it is due. Oh it's so difficult trying to get on with things and concentrate, I really can't get myself motivated. Just want Saturday morning to arrive. Sounds like you've been through such a lot. It's so stressful. A big congratulations on your pregnancy with your little girl and best of luck with everything. Take care x

If I were you - and again, If I were you - I did IVF and tested early and got negative results - even blood work on 7 days post transfer and HPT 10 days- it can take a little while for those buggers to snuggle into your uterus and start generating HCG - keep with the progestrone until you get your blood drawn on the 14 dpt - if those come back negative stop... my fresh cycle failed - I think it was because I was so sore from the retrieval - 25 eggs, 21 mature and soooo stressed they had a very hard time doing the transfer - took 45 mins b/c my cervix was tight - Frozen cycle - for me was less stressful - I had taken valium to relax me - it took 3 mns for the transfer - 3 embys and I am 21w4d with one little girl!! Best of luck
