I agree that profanity should be limited on here. But if they made a "Christian" forum it wouldn't make any sense since this is a medical community not a religious community. Like Kstarr said everyone comes from different backgrounds and some people cuss and some don't. Its a public forum so the only thing they can really do to limit it is have the moderators and use ************ instead of the actual words.
It's okay. I'm not trying to be defensive about it.. I just didn't like how you connected the two so closely. I guess it makes a little more sense that you'd like a christian forum not just for the sake of no profanity, alone.. But the way you made it sound was that it would simply be cleaner. And perhaps you're right but I felt slightly singled out. It's easy for me to get a little defensive about this subject when it comes to religion because I often feel like the odd one out because the majority of the members here do happen to be christians.
Well most Christians i know aren't like that. I was just saying that its foolish to use that language when your reading about pregnancy and all. . I guess i am a little upset that we can't live in a world where people have the same views as you. Its hard to find a forum where we are as follow. Love God for most . Love our children and our families. Love our spouses. And want this world to be appropriate for our children to grow and expect the best of everyone else. Sorry if i offended you .
I think mommato was just asking for a curse free forum. She made the mistake by adding "Christian" to her point and well you saw what happened. Sometimes people are so upset and vent and a do alot of $%$$# to get their point across without he actual words written out. I too have used my FIRST and hopefully my last set of ***** on a smoking while pregnant post and it was only to demonstrate how crappy I felt about myself concerning that hot topic and no one else in particular. Anyway, I agree with both sides here, it's just that a person needs to be a little more careful about what they say and how they say it because we are all a little emotional by being pregnant right now and we tend to blow up easily. Especially during our last trimester. I firmly believe that no one here is trying to offend anyone else.
Yeah.. But she didn't have to say that it would be a "christian" forum because that's basically saying that christians do not curse at all and she would much rather be surrounded by them, only. And it just seems really stereotypical in my eyes.
I don't think shes saying all Christians are saints. I do could do without the language. And i think it would be great if it wasn't on here. But people will be who they are even if you try to tell them its childish .
Some people are just too used to talking that way, grew up that way, live that way on a daily basis, it's hard to just cut that out. And no, I don't think that would be great at all. Atleast they censor out the curse words, but don't you think that a "christian" forum would just promote too much controversy like that one journal post had? If christians had their own forum, I'm sure that other people would come and decide to be rude and it would cause endless fights. Not to mention it doesn't have to be "CHRISTIAN" to be profanity free. I rarely ever curse and I'm not a christian, I almost feel like you're calling all christians saints. I know plenty of "christians" that curse sometimes. Perhaps if you think it would be so great, you can go and google a christian forum or support community and have at it. I don't think that "MEDhelp" is a good place for one. It's for medically related issues, not religious standards and labels.
