Even if you tear....as almost ALL women do; they stitch you up....and you are as good as new. God bless !

all you can feel is contractions. You wont notice any other pain. It isnt a big deal. Your body is an amazing thing. After the baby you will be as tight as a virgin. After you heal of course.

I've kinda already accepted the fact that I'm gonna tear, but I can't get an epidural.  I don't particularly wanna feel them stitching me up nor a needle to numb me there. I plan on getting meds through an IV though.  Any suggestions to help me cope regarding pain?  I'm so excited for my baby boy to arrive,..I just don't wanna be in alot of pain cause I do wanna embrace the moment he's born

You never know what's going to happen. Chances are you won't tear, but get cut instead. Just go in with an open mind and if you do tear or get cut just try not to focus on the pain. You won't feel it because your body will still be in like shock lol. But I know I felt like two and they pinched like hell. Good luck!

If you do tear, you won't feel the stitches. They will give you a shot of anesthetic.

I tore in 3 places. Most painful thing ever. To this day my inner labia is still torn in half. Too cosmetic, so they didnt sew it. My daughter came out too fast. Id say tell your dr to cut you instead of letting you tear.

Yea you don't feel the tear. .well I didn't. And have also been told to try perinial massage and taking time to push bub out. My midwife said if you like "pant" sort of thing and control your breathing instead of doing the big pushes it eases baby out rather than in like 3 big pushes. And she also advised not giving birth on my back, cos on your back you have that pressure on the perineum and the coccyx does not move to give even the tiniest extra room. So im going to try a different position this time around as it all made sense when she explained it :)

Perineal massage works and if you're going, natural talk to your dr about not rushing you. If they rush you to push the baby out you will definitely year but if you take your time and baby's head has a chance to slowly stretch you out you probably won't. You also won't feel it either way but if you go natural you will feel the stitches which I've heard is worse than the pushing lol

You tear when you are pushing the baby out, but starting around 33 weeks the doctor said to do perineal massage. I never did it, but I'm sure you can find it on google. Also kegals. I never did either and only tore a little with my daughter. And tearing does not hurt, because if you have the epidural you are numb and if you have an all natural birth you get this thing called the ring of fire once their head is crowning(at the likely time of tearing) so you don't feel it anyways.
