Baby shower

So I was looking at the last weekend of July to do my baby shower (il be 30 weeks then)... But my fiances mom decides she wants to do it in late august ( I'd be about 33 wks) or early september(36 wks).  We'll I really did not want to do it that late. We don't have money last minute just to pull out of our ***** to buy the rest if the baby stuff I don't get at the shower for one, and for two, what if I was early? I mean my mom had me around 33 wks, what if my baby comes that early thn I'm kinda screwed. Idk it's irritating. I just wanna be in control of everything lol but everyone says let family plan the shower.

My mother in law and my mom organized my baby shower. It was last weekend and it all was great. What they did was that my mother in law's invitations where money tree and my mom's invitations were not. I got lots of gifts and $997 (: some are still pending cuz they didn't make it to the shower. Maybe if your worried you won't have enough money to buy stuff your baby still needs after shower you can do what was done in my shower, just an idea. Goodluck (:

It's nice that you have someone to throw the shower.  Ask her if it can be no later than late August, since that 33-week number is so significant to you.  Regarding your comment about not having the money at the last minute to buy baby stuff, there is nothing to prevent you from saving all your money from now until the shower, against that list you will have to buy after the shower.  In other words, now or then, money is money.  Put it in the bank and earn a little credit with your banker, and then pull it in August and go on a spree.  (ps -- You don't have to buy tons of stuff before the baby comes, once the crib and basics are in place.  I did a lot of shopping with my baby, it gave me some things to do in the weeks after he came.  His arrival helped me get clear on what things were really needed and what were just on some list somewhere.)

You should tell her she can plan it but that's when you want it. Mines at 29 weeks. I know my dads gf wanted to throw it for me but I like to be in control so I told her she can help me. I say 30 weeks is a great time to have it.
