any ideas?

So my bd and I have come to a stand still. He thinks it's unhealthy for me to be around the pets while pregnant, and then unhealthy for baby once it arrives. I disagree. I was raised with cats and dogs and hamsters and fish and all that all my life. Not saying I own all those right now. He's saying that I need to get rid of my pets. Which are basically my family (bad childhood, no family) or move out and into his grandad house, who is more than likely going to kick both of us out because he hasn't even told any part of his family that pregnant. I don't want to leave my mom. And I'm not sending my pets to a kill shelter.he called me a bad mom basically and said that if were gonna be parents we need to take action. coming from the person that refuses to get a job. I don't even know what to do. I'm sitting in the car having a panic attack and he just walked out of the car screaming that I'm stupid. I'm afraid to go in the house because I think once he comes back hell tell at me for being in there. Help?

I've got 2 dogs and a cat who is pregnant with me right now. I'm due in November and honestly, I see nothing wrong with having pets while pregnant. My brothers and I have all been born and raised around animals and its good for children honestly. I would tell him to suck it up because pets are family. Stand your ground mama!! You are not a bad mom.

Lmao I'd leave -.- I payed $700 for my cat she's definitely family and she's a show cat, I just pay my cousin $20 a week to change her litter since I can't.. but I would tell him to shutup or leave my cat was here 2 years before my fiance so it would be my fiance who left first if he had a problem.

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and I have dogs and cats aft home plus I am a vet tech. There is nothing wrong with animals as long as you do not clean the cat boxes or clean up after the cats other wise your fine and your baby will be to. It is good for development for the baby to be around animals as long as the baby ifs not endangered by them.

Don't get rid of your pets hun. Growing up with pets is a really good deterrent for allergies. I used to be so allergic to cats and my mom got one and over time my allergies to her went away amd have my own cat now. I love her and so does my man. She is my baby could never get rid of her. He ia just being extremely unreasonable.

I worked in a vet while pregnant with my first and now I'm pregnant again and I have 2 cats 2 dogs snakes and mice and I handle and help clean up after all of them. The only thing you just need to be careful with is feces. Just wash your hands and use hand sanitizer. Stand your ground! Pets are not bad to have while pregnant or with newborns. You can also ask your doctor in front of him and see what your doc says about it but I bet your doc will tell you the same thing I did. My doc always told me it was fine. Good luck.

Well most pets have accidents of course but he's seriously over reacting. I had to ask my dr and she said as long as I'm not cleaning up after the cats I'm fine. And the only reason he doesn't have a job is because he's lazy. He even said it straight out. Ugh

To be completely honest my sisters baby daddy wouldn't get a job and did pretty much the same thing and we found out he was doing drugs. IM NOT SAYING YOUR HUSBAND IS! I'm just saying if he isn't stepping up and getting a job I would kick him to the curb quickly especially since as long as they aren't pottying in the house there is nothing wrong with having pets.

Thats so sad :( of my hubby told me to get rid of my pets i would kick him where the sun dont shine. My cats are my world. I love them and i just know that once bsby comes theyll be fine....they always mind there own business anyways lol theyre pretty lazy cats :P i know at like 24weeks pregnant i did make a hard decision and gave my doggy up for adoption but in the situation we wrre in it was for his best interest. I got updated not long after by the family that adopted him :) lovely people they are! With a huge yard and two kids, i bet hes having blast and also he has another friend to play with. It made me happy, considering i dont have a yard and he hates being alone and i couldnt give him a friend to play with. But my cats i would never! Unless my baby is allergic then i would have too but i dont want to think of that. Just tell him to either drop that subject or get out. I would seriously leave my husband if he told me to get rid of my cats and call me a bad mom. Hell i would kick his arse if he even raised his voice at me! But im mean that way lol

It depends on how ur pets behave and how they are taken care of.. if no one cleans up after them n theres alot of dust and animal droppings laying around then he is right. just my opinion. but if hes overreacting then ignore him

How many pets do you have?  A couple pets I think are ok, but I know some people that go completely overboard.  Is it just because you cant find a place to stay with them?  And of course he should be finding a job to be the one supporting his family.

he wont get a job because youre pregnant and hes lazy? oh dear god, he seems like a real winner. My husband doesnt come home until 11:00 pm every night from work and I'm due literally any day. He works full time and an HOUR drive away from me. around 17-18 weeks your baby will start to hear the sounds that are inside the womb like digestive sounds and the sounds from the placenta etc.. its around 24-28 weeks that the baby can hear well enough to hear noises from outside the womb so him yelling around this time, the baby will be able to hear everything.

Yeah I'm almost 15 weeks, not sure if baby can hear him. He told me that if we can't move in with his grandma then I have to get rid of them. Wtf is that. How about you get a job and we can have our own place? He said we can't get jobs because I'm pregnant and he's lazy. I don't even know what to do.I'm super stressed already cause my mom is sick and we live with her, she's probably going to lose her job. And now he wants me to get rid lg my babies?

Its actually BETTER for the baby to be around animals. The doctor told me when I had my daughter that the baby needs to be around at least cats and dogs during the first year, or they are at higher risk for being allergic to those animals. I would tell him that with him acting like this, it is NOT good for the baby. If you are far enough along, the baby can hear him yelling, and he can harm the baby by causing you stress. Best of luck to you! :)

Omg that's so stupid! Pets are fine!!! You can get a pet, keep your pets, have a freaking horse if you want. That has no bearing on whether you're a good mother or not. He's being very immature and needs to grow up if he's going to be a parent.

Idk personally I'd stand my ground. I mean if you clean up after pets and keep an eye on them around baby I don't see what the problem is. My dog and cat are family and they would not be going any where if my bf decided to have fit about it. My son was around my dog and cat since the day he came home. He's perfectly fine and has only been sick a handful of times and he's almost 3. I think he's being insensitive about the entire thing not to mention overreacting if he's gonna be yelling at you about it.
