Hey guys, im a hairstylist and the chemicals you put on your hair do not get to your baby enough to do any harm. You can safely dye, perm your hair.
They say not to because your hormones can make your hair react differently (not work)
I do only recommend doing so in a ventillated area such as a hair salon, and the chemicals you can buy on the shelves are not a good idea either.
Its because a womans hair is more likely to not hold the perm like it should
Dying your hair and perming your hair is fine if the place has the proper venting for the odor / chemicals. 2 of my good friends who are hair dressers do pregnant ladies hair and my ob says it's okay too. The only thing is sometimes it turns out good and sometimes it doesn't.
It's the hormones and changes the body goes through that effects the outcome;that's why some work and some don't because everyone is different!
The chemicals are harmful to the baby. Once you have a baby you won't have that much time to spend on your hair anyway so beat to get used to it now :-)
I heard it's bad for your baby but not sure...
I was told because of the chemicals in the perm. I was told the same thing for dying your hair.
Ive done it and it came out fine but wasnt really straight.
Because it isnt going to come out as start or might not come out straight at all.And if you do,do it only have it down once or twice in ur pregnancy.
Idk but I NEED one badly lol I'm tempted to get one
Honestly idk but I'm on my 3rd baby & have permed my hair with all of them & my babies are perfect
It may not turn out how u like it or the smell may make u sick.
