I bought a bath pad that's called blooming bath and its a huge flower that fits perfect in the kitchen sink and cradles and supports the baby (you can wash it in the washer and after every bath just throw it in the dryer)...it says its good for up to 6 months in the sink and than u can use it as a mat for the baby to sit on in the tub. My 22 month old loves to use it as a pillow when he watches his mickey mouse lol

you can buy bath sponge for them - you lie it in the bath and its indented at the top and you lie baby on it. that way you don't need to hold baby at all or you just need to raise their head if you want to. we got one from babies r us for the wee boy, its blue and shaped like a frog, it goes from his head to his knees so his feet dangle down - now he has discovered how to splash so he loves it lol. best of all it was only £7 so not expensive and saves the worry of them slipping x

I put my baby in the sink, then i used a washing up bowl on the bathroom floor.... that plaastic tub was only 79p and now shes 20 weeks i put her in the main bath tub and she loves it! Just run the water deep enough to come upto her ears when lying down and plonk her in, she loves splashing away!

I had trouble with baby baths, so I would always just get in the tub with baby and a few inches of water, and dit cross-legged. My legs acted as the baby tub and my hands were more free to wash. This worked for me because it was a lot less awkward than a baby tub or sink.

we went to a Jack and Jill sale at the university 5 mins down the road from us (basically a second hand sale) and got our baby bath and a top and tail bowl - £5 for the two of them, as i couldn't afford to spend £30 or so buying a new one. when i got home i just disaffected it lol. and Im glad we did - baby is coming up  5 weeks and has had a bath every night and loves it, got a giant spongeshaped like a frog which we lay inside the bath for him to lie on so we don't have to hold him as much. he absolutely lover it lol. Im so glad i didn't spend a lot ls he so tall and is out growing it already  x

I was so glad to have one with my first...mine was cheap, like 20 bucks at target, but i didnt have any experience to speak of with newborns, so i was so paranoid about dropping him, or him squirming while soapy, it just made it easier for me to have the extra support and traction of the baby tub...but i wouldnt feel like that with tjis pregnancy, i know how to handle newborns now lol.

Even though in some ways its a waste of money, I've bought one for both pregnancies, the baby bath tubs do offer a little bit more support and traction than just using the sink. If you don't have money to buy one though, I would just put a towel in the bottom of the sink, then run water so baby doesn't slide as much.

I did what tay9662 said! Its cheap and strudy. I think the big plastic ones are a hassle and could be more pricey. Then again I'm a ftm I just go off all my friends advice!

You could just get a sink sling there only like 12.99 and the baby just. Sits in it while you give it a bath just like the baby bathtub but much cheaper

My neice was a premie and only 4lbs when she came home. When we bathed her at our place we put just enough water in the bathtub so she wouldn't get cold and we layed her in it. That way it was just quick, it wasn't hard to get all the shampoo out of her hair and we didn't need a baby bath. Then when she got big enough she would sit. As long as you watch close they don't need a baby bath. They don't use it lonf enough anyways.

I got a tub to fit into the sink. Hold up to 20 something pounds....helps support newborns/infants from slipping.

I just use the kitchen sink, why waste money? Plus the height makes it so much easier.
