breast feeding.

Ohkay! Finally had my baby boy on Saturday the 28th & I'm breast feeding. How long does it usually take to get decent milk in? It's been 5 days & I can already pump 4 ounces out of each boob. Is that normal? & when does the pain start to get better? Also what's the pump & dump policy on weed. I quit smoking for my pregnancy & smoked yesterday. Not a lot & I've pumped & dumped twice bc I don't want him to have it. (No Im not smoking all the time) is that enough? & what about alcohol. I alcohol haven't drank yet but st. Patrick's day I was planning on it. Ohkay go (:

Thanks guys & I know it is that's why I wanted to make sure I pumped enough to get it out. I mean girls smoke cigs & feed right? It can't be that much worse but still. Like I said I just wanted to smoke for the hell of it. Not as an all the time thing. & I didn't smoke much so hopefully were good.

You will only pump what the baby is eating. So 4 oz is good for right now. As for smoking I'm not going to comment because you are putting your baby in danger. As for drinking you need to pump before tou drink and at least twice after you are finished if you are not sure on if you have alcohol in your system they make alcahol testing strips for your milk I recommend getting them

I heard for you to get the regular milk is like in 3 weeks I'm not so sure, I don't know about the smoking part. the drinking part my mother-in-law told me that its okay to drink one beer it won't hurt the baby and will help you to get more milk, now if you drink, drink I recommend you to pump all that milk out before you feed your baby & your boobs will hurt a lot since they are going to be full.I hope this helps you I'm ftm 31 weeks.
