Your baby will get just as sick if you breast feed or formula feed they say its a lot healthier just for your baby and your body at first but not much of a difference both are just fine I breast fed my first for 8 months pregnant with my second and I'm formula feeding not breast feeding.

sorry kelly mom for excellent advice*...FYI baby may use you for a pacifier so you will have to disguish the difference when baby is hungry or baby just want to soothe.

Hope this helps

Hi, I have been breast feeding for two years. I weaned my son two days after his second birthday. It is an amazing bond.

My experience with breast feeding is that some moms think they are not producing enough milk because baby seems hungry and want to latch all the time. Truth is baby will be going through growth spurts and will cluster feed all the time and because breast milk is easily digestible they will seem more hungry than baby whom are on formula.

You always will seem more hungry and extremely thirsty. I will suggest when baby is nursing to have healthy snacks within reach and a bottle of water so that you can produce more milk and won't feel tired. Make sure to continue to take your prenatals even while breast feeding so you won't become anemic.

To continue to produce a great supply of milk, drink plenty of water and try to aim eating foods high in fiber. Also, their are supplements available to help you produce more milk such as fenugeek, lactation cookies and lactation tee. Make sure you pump the breast baby is not nursing from to prevent engorgement, mastistis and clogged ducts.

If baby develops runny stools, fussy and gassy could be something in your diet that is causing baby stomach to be upset. You can try the elimination diet to see if whatever you are eating is a factor in causing your baby stomach to be upset. If you are on facebook try this amazing group called breast is best, also you can look up Dr.Sears and ************ for excellent advice.

Hope this helps

It's a personal choice. Breastfeeding has many extra benefits particularly in the first few months, but some moms find they need to supplement with formula. It's important if you're breastfeeding that you not give a bottle for at least the first 4 weeks to establish your milk supply and to figure out the best position, get a good latch, and get baby used to breastfeeding. Bottles are easier to get the food out fast so sometimes babies will refuse the breast and want a bottle if you haven't established breastfeeding. If you decide to supplement with formula try a gentle type to begin because formula is more likely to give baby an upset stomach. I started supplementing after about 6 months because I couldn't pump enough for when I wasn't there. It's much more expensive buying formula. So that is something to consider also.

About the sore nipples my nipples have lost all sensitivity after breastfeeding lol I wonder if it's just me. But definitely try breastfeeding why would you want your baby drinking cow milk when it's a human they should be drinking human milk. If you can't breastfeed then there's women selling breastmilk online.  I really don't understand why anyone who's not adopting a child when old use formula... like why? I really don't get it

I would recommend strictly breast feeding, it's the best thing for your baby. I was only able to breast feed my daughter for 3 months before I dried up, if I hadn't I would still be breast feeding and she's 8 months now. I'm hoping I can go longer this time, I'm 6 wks pregnant with my second

I tried to breastfeed with my first. Started needing to supplement with formula. Finally gave up feeding at the breast and I would pump. Had enough to cover her needs for the first couple months. Then needed to add back in formula.

I breastfeed during the week and on the weekend I bottle feed the milk I freeze so my husband has a time to bond with our daughter or even my son gets to feed her. It also gives my nipples a break.

I'm breastfeeding. I have been for 2 And a half months. I have never used a bottle or pacifier. I don't know the challenges with formula but breastfeeding you experience engorgement crackled nipples at first you gotta watch what you eat you can't just eat whatever that's not true baby can be allergic to certain foods
