No serious side affects but it isn't pleasant. A lot of people including me really don't think it is a good idea. I know waiting is hard but hang in there. You want to give that baby as much time to fully develop their lungs. But for the uncomfortable constipation try natural remedies prunes??
Besides the side effects for the mom is there any harmful side effects for baby I just got back from the hospital and after a four hour visit and them doing nothing but giving me an enema and it doing absolutely nothing I'm getting kinda antsy this pain is horrible and I'm afraid it'll hurt baby worse

I tried it last Thursday, it didn't work for me except for give me the runs. It will only work if your body is ready. Give it a try but know you will probably get a bad case of the runs & may feel nauseous & at the very least get false labor. That what happened to me. If your body is ready then it should work though. If you click on my profile name and go to my posts click on the ones that have to do with castor oil & you can see everyone's posts on it. Some woman say you shouldn't do it but its a natural way of induction its not going to harm your baby.
I would try milk of magnesia before castor oil. If you take enough of the milk of magnesia it acts as a laxative (i think 6tbsp). You can also try metamucil. Castor oil makes you misersble. I took it with my first and won't do it again.
I heard pregnant women shouldn't do that?
The other say a friend of my moms and few others were saying how I'll feel miserable towards the end and to not do this method thing she knows a few people that have done it and it did something to their baby..I'm sure it doesn't to everyone..but you know. :/ what about trying certain juices that'll help with the constipation?
