My brother is 30 years old, lives with my mother and OFF my mother. He came to stay with my husband and I until I could find a babysitter since we just moved and OMG he is whinier than a 12 year old girl. He was supposed to have his friend take him home today BC I wouldn't have the gas to get him back so he starts the morning complaining of being sick which is code for I wanna go home now. He is bothering me at work about how he feels terrible. I finally get home from a HORRENDOUS day and he is laying on my kitchen floor pretending to sleep. Are u ******* kidding? And to top it off instead of my husband (who had been home for quite sometime now) taking him 2 hours round trip he waits for me to get home from work being on my feet all day and says you need to take me home. I TOLD him ahead of time I had no gas and he said his friend would take him. He is now fetal position crying BC I can't take him home. You are 30 years old get off the floor and act like an adult first off.

And he's been whining all week about jot having anything to eat (he's vegan) after I spent $100 that we didn't have to buy him special ******* food to fit his special ******* needs. I don't wanna hear u say the word hungry. There are veggies everywhere and beans coming out of our beans and so much rice I could bathe in it. I'm not buying another $100 in substitutes. Why go vegan if you don't like veggies?!?!?!?!

Then our water. Its well water so it isn't all that pleasant smelling BC of the sulfur. You can cook with it it won't kill you. But he won't do that insteadhe used GALLONS of bottled drinking water to boil potatoes and pasta in. God!!!! Now I remember why I never wanted him living with me. He thinks we owe him so much. Yea he helped us out but we have given him what we could afford. Be greatful and not so unappreciative

Just because he was tested when in your grandma's care doesn't mean he has not manifested a more significant issue as he has become older.  Some mental illnesses don't come on until the person is in his 20s.  You might just be correct when you write it off to his being a drama king, but 30 is quite late in life to be curled up on the kitchen floor, whining.  (Absent taking drugs and having a bad trip).  As his sister, I would be moderately on the alert to the possibility that he has a mental condition.  At least it will reduce your frustration in thinking he is doing it all on purpose.

Oh he is mentally sound. My grandmother did all the testing and stuff on all of my moms kids. He's just an attention seeking drama king. But I thought it was bizarre too. 30 years old and throwing a tantrum that could put my 2 year old to shame.

It's kind of a bizarre story, the lying on the kitchen floor at age 30.  Like he is not mentally all there.
