deathly worried!!!

I got my period October 11, I then had intercourse with a man other than my boyfriend on Oct 21st. The man was inside me without a condom for approximately one minute maybe less. He then put on a condom but never ejaculated. This man also urinated several times before this incident (Ive read that urination flushes out any sperm from pre-***.) I then had another period on Nov. 8. All throughout November I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend numerous times. My period never came in Dec and I took a hpt on Dec 12 and it says that I am pregnant. My last period seemed very normal in length and heaviness. Im worried that I could have gotten pregnant in October rather than November. How accurate is an ultrasound to determine conception date this early?

Scans can usually be off by a week or 2,a month no.the only sure way would be a dna test.

Hey thanks for the info. Since then I had an ultrasound in mid dec that stated that I was 5 weeks along . All they could see was the sac. I then had another ultrasound at 11 weeks and the doc said that I was 11 weeks and 6 days. Is it normal for ultrasound to be off by a week at this stage? Is it possible that both ultrasounds were off by an entire month? My doc said it could be that I ovulated early. All these results point to my bf being the father. Could there be some error that my doc is missing?

Urine comes from the bladder and semen comes from the vas defrens- so urinating will have no bearing on flushing out sperm.

Since you had a period after having sex with the one guy I would say your boyfriend is the father.

A sonogram early on is the most accurate in measuring an embryo and getting an estimated conception date. I would recommend one when you are 8 weeks along.

I started experiencing symptoms that I thought was my menstrual such as back pain and cramping in late November to now plus my breasts are swollen... I'm just worried that my last period wasn't a period but vaginal bleeding and I didn't know although my period seemed normal. Is it accurate that an ultrasound can determine if your one month or two pretty accurately???

This is quite the situation you have put yourself in. I hope that everything works out in your favour. If you are normally on a 28 days cycle which when you look at your last cycle dates, you were... your ovulation date would have or should have been Oct 25. I guess it is possible that the sperm could have lived in you for 5 days. I think 5 days is pushing it though. To know when you ovulate, you generally count back 14 days from your next expected period. This time frame is normally very accurate in the 14 day rule. If you were expecting another 28 day cycle you should have been expecting your period on Dec 06. If you count back 14 days from that, your approximate ovulation date would have been Nov 22. Have you started experiencing any symptoms yet? and if so when did they start? Although everyone is different, I would think that If you got pregnant in Oct, you would have started displaying symptoms in Nov.

I would personally say that you got pregnant in Nov by your boyfriend. There is a difference of almost 4 weeks and a ultrasound should be able to tell if you are either 7 weeks along or only 3 weeks along.

There are alot of women that are very good at providing information on this site and I hope that you get additional info.

First, urine does nothing to flush out sperm and pre-ejaculate, it is an old wives tale. but even so, since you had your period in November, I would guess you got pregnant after that, so it is fairly certain that it is your boyfriend's baby. Early (first trimester) ultrasounds are accurate within three days. Congrats on the pregnancy and keep us posted.
