You rarely (if ever) feel the babies heartbeat. I don't ever recall feeling my daughters at any point, even just before labour. What you feel is likely to be nothing more than your own blood. In early pregnancy (which I assume you would be) you wouldn't normally put on a ton of weight. For the most part you shouldn't gain more than a few pounds. Was the last bleed you had a normal flow? A period while pregnant is impossible, but vaginal bleeding, while not common, is very possible. Symptoms are unreliable to go off of. There are many things that can cause them.

Another reason for having a false result on a blood test is because 1) the test was done too early, 2) you are pregnant but having a failed pregnancy, or 3) the hcg hormone does show up but is at a low level indicating no pregnancy.

In my case, I had a test done on the day my period was due. Levels came back below 5, which indicates no pregnancy. Three weeks later I was in the emergency room in dire pain from an ectopic pregnancy. So, while I technically failed the blood test, I was pregnant.

Do you have reason to believe that you are pregnant, yet failed a blood test?

Depends on the blood test. One only looks for the hormone and one tests the exact amount in your blood. (can't remember the exact names of them at the moment though) The first one can be wrong, while the other is rarely wrong unless a lab error was done.
