I kmow how ya feel, I am part of a company subject to fmla and my boss was/is still a massive pain. I took in dr notes an dc everything on my ristrictions as well as every apt I had getting the notes sayin I was there even if I was off & I still heard non stop about how come I was sick, how come I refused to run men's shipment (which could weigh upwards of like 30-40 pounds & involved goin up & down a ladder) and how come I was sitting when workin w kids instead of crouching.... eventually my dr just sent me in w a note putting me on leave of absense 2 weeks sooner than planned because my boss was ignoring all of my restrictions.  I understand its frustrating for everyone involved in covering a shift but knowing the employee is pregnant and that anything can happen at any time they should have a backup plan in place.

i work at a restaurant, i worked the entire 8 1/2 months of my pregnancy for my son and around the 8th month mark it was completely dead in the restaurant and i decided to sit down for a few minutes because by that time i had begun to experience swollen ankles. my 70 yr old manager came over to me and said "unfortunately i dont pay u to sit"...so i snapped back and said consider this my version of a smoke break...and she left me alone...so stick up for yourself...good luck!

My boss told me today that "she understands I'm pregnant and have to pee more, but I need to get a doctor's note if I need to take extra breaks to pee". It's bull.

I got fired from my job at walgreens bc I was so sick from weeks 5 to 17 I would throw up 6+ times a day and sometimes pass out... I kept calling out and they got mad I would force myself to go to work and end up throwing up at work and would get it on me sometimes and they wouldn't let me go home either... I'm glad in not working there anymore another girl was ahead of me with her pregnancy and she was never sick so they expected me to be the same bullcrap I know!

If you work in a company that is subject to Family Medical Leave Act regulations, you definitely should know your rights before just buying anything your boss says.  However, some companies are too small to be subject to those rules.  I am sorry you're going through this, and don't want to stick up for your boss because I can see you are really upset with her, but if it is difficult for her to get a replacement for you if you call in sick in the morning when she expects you there that morning, it could be kind of tough on all the people who have to cover for you.  Maybe you could be moved to duties that are not so crucial if you have to suddenly call in sick?

I would fight it also. I had my fmla paperwork filled out so when I do feel sick and can't make it to work I can't be fired nor it even held against me. Good luck and hope everything works out
