You really should consider what your doctor is recommending, like dmnj said, Zoloft has been known to cause birth defects. I don't know where you live, but there have been SOO many advertisements about class action lawsuits because of women taking Zoloft while pregnant and their babies being born with certain medical conditions. You should see if there is something safer you can take, or if you can possibly lower your dosage slowly and wean off. It really is best for your baby, and you can resume taking them once baby is born. You're almost halfway there, so it's not that long before you do have the baby. I've never suffered with depression, I'm sure it's hard but there is plenty of help out there, and your doctor can recommend other ways of dealing with it for the next 21ish weeks until you do have the baby. I'm not sure if you can breast feed and take Zoloft, you may want to talk to you doctor about that too if you plan on breast feeding. Good luck!

Hello,
I think you should try to wean off the medicine. Zoloft has been known to cause birth defects like PPHN and heart defects. I know it's hard to wean off of any medication but you can find the strength thinking of your baby. There are other medications your doctor may be able to prescribe for you. Your best bet is to be very open and honest with your doctor, he will know what's best for both of you. Depression is very hard to deal with, I wish you the best.

I think you should try to wean yourself off of them.. If not for you, for the baby.. Weaning yourself off of anything is never really easy.. maybe ask your Dr if there's something safer that you can take instead....

Good luck to you
