OT: Moby Wrap vs Standard Baby Carrier

DH is wanting to get me something for my birthday and i told him i just wanted a baby carrier and we got to looking and now cant make up our mind about which one to get. The Moby Wrap looks  more comfy for both mamma and baby, but the carriers look more safer. Which Do you ladies prefer? Which do you all think is better for mommy/baby bonding?

I'm the opposite of Nicole - I absolutely LOVE my Moby Wrap. It grows better with baby I think. My sister-in-law has had so many baby carriers and baby always outgrows them or they hurt her back or don't fit right, etc. The only carrier I have heard of without negative comment is Baby Hawk.

Moby takes getting used to there is no doubt about that. If it is not tied tightly enough it will feel like baby's weight is pulling the fabric down. You have to practice! There are great videos on YouTube that show you how to put it on and once you get the hang of it it goes on super fast.

If there is a baby store in your area they should have ones you can try on and test out. You can also make your own Moby Wrap. It is 6 yards of cotton fabric.

I have a moby wrap and a regular carrier. I prefer the carrier. I absolutely hate my moby wrap. I hate it with a passion. Its just super awkward.
