milk supply

I am 34 weeks today with my first child and I'm worried about breastfeeding feeding.  When should my milk come in? I do not want to put my baby on formula, what if my milk does not come in before delivery?   How does this work? :/

Yup thats it!! Some woman leak quite alot while others don't. Whether you do or you don't, won't determine your milk supply. Keep putting baby on the breast to help stimulate the flow. Yehh I'm sure you'll be fine! Babies normally lose weight in the first week anyways but thats why they start storing fat

Could be. That's about all I had. And yes you'd have enough to feed baby. Don't let anyone tell you differently as long as baby doesn't lose more than 10% of his/her birth weight.

Thank you ladies! I was concerned with the colostrum didn't know if it's there when I deliver. So I will have enough colostrum to feed the baby until my actual milk comes in? I know this is gross but I have something I'm not leaking any but I have the hardened milky stuff on my nipple every day. Is that colostrum?

You'll have colostrum milk atm and then around 3-4 days after you have your baby, your milk will come in

Baby will bring your milk in. Must women don't have their milk before the baby is born, just leaky colostrum. Your breasts produce colostrum for the first one to five days (anywhere in there is normal) after baby is born before their mature milk comes in. Baby's tummy is the size of a grape at birth do even if you don't produce a ton right away you'll be fine. Just make sure you feed on demand and absolutely no artificial nipples (including binky) until your milk comes in. Then no bottles until baby is a good nurser. (They say four to six weeks minimum before you offer the bottle to avoid nipple confusion)

My milk didn't leak at all when I was pregnant with my daughter and we went on to breastfeed for over a year.
