How are you supposed to know?

This has been worrying me forever... How are you supposed to know what to do as a ftm? Like how do you know exactly how much to feed and how often? How do you know when its time to start introducing solid foods? How do you know when its time to start potty training, using pull ups instead of diapers, brushing their teeth, moving them out of a bassinet into a crib and then from a crib into something else and soo many other things?? I never had younger siblings nor have I ever baby sat, plus I don't have nieces or nephews that I ever see, so how am I supposed to know these things?? I'm so worried that I'm gonna be a bad mom. :(

No I don't have friends anymore and not very close with family. And this forum is helpful, but is also getting dramatic and catty to be honest. :/

Most things your baby will let you know what to do. My biggest help was my pediatrician. A good one is a must. They will let you know when is the right time to do solids, carseat changes, crib changes, etc. I think listening to them is the most reliable since things seem to change minute to minute & are a LOT different from when our parents & grand parents had kids.

I was the same with my 1st.. You just know things lol... Baby will tell you in his own way when hes ready for things. like grab at your toast and chew on it... when had enough milk hel just stop drinking or hel start crying... It all comes natural and you will know what yourbubba needs xx

You will be fine! Instinct kicks in and you will figure it out. Don't worry about doing something wrong its normal to not know everything! I did lots wrong with my first she fell off the bed so many times I lost track. Then she started walking and fell down the stairs! I felt horrible but she's 9 now doesn't remember turned out just fine :)

A lot of it really does come naturally, mommies know their babies, and you'll learn quickly what their cries mean (hungry, wet, warm, bored, etc) I never thought I'd be able to raise a baby but my 6 and 7 year olds turned out pretty nicely if I do say so myself :)

You're already a good mom by asking. the hospital will normally tell you about feedings and such. Potty training I started as soon and my son was able to walk. Potty trained by a year and a half. Just depends on when you feel they are ready. Solids usually start around 6 months to a year. Your pediatrition will answer all. Brushing of teeth as soon as teething begging. Well at least that what my son dentist said. It all seems to come natural. Relax you will do fine. Lol I was so afraid to give me son his first bath. I was scared I would drown him so my grandma did it. Teaching me every step of the way. A lot of churches offer parenting classes for free or a 20 buck fee for all ages. I went and still go. So helpful.

Google, parenting classes, mommy groups, and instincts. You'll be ok :) mommies have been raising babies forever, there still isn't an exact manual.

There is classes you can take at your hospital, ask for information on any courses they are running, also there are a lot of books that you can read that have all that info in them perhaps you look at buying a few.
